In addition to our fantastic honorees, the event spotlighted the work of the Alliance and all of its stakeholders over the past three decades, while raising important funds for our Community First program, our partner in meeting the needs of vulnerable people who have found refuge in Times Square. Support for the event will help Times Square, its recovery, and its future as it leads the way as one of the world’s greatest public spaces.
We were thrilled to have Tony Award-winning performer Brian Stokes Mitchell as our Master of Ceremonies, and to feature performances by Lena Hall (Tony Award Winner, Hedwig and the Angry Inch), Mykal Kilgore (Motown: The Musical, The Wiz Live!), and Taylor Iman Jones (The Devil Wears Prada Musical, Head Over Heels), curated by Broadway Sings; performance artist and recent NPR Tiny Desk star Joseph Keckler; and two-time Grammy-nominated trumpeter Alphonso Horne and the Gotham Kings jazz band.
